Where did you serve? 2nd Battalion 4th Marines 1st Marine Division. Staioned at Camp Pendleton, CA (San Mateo). Fought in the Battle of Ramadi in Ramadi, Iraq. Served in Kuwait/Okinawa, Japan/Sasebo, Japan/Pohang, South Korea,/Guam/many other places, but can't remember?
What did I do? Infantry Rifleman/Mortarman 60mm. I got hurt while serving. Instead of getting out, I stayed in and worked as a postal clerk for the last few months of my contract.
Any stories? http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2004-07-12-ramadi_x.htm |
Was Cpt Kennedy (I think he's a Col now) still with 2/4 when you were there? |
Yep, PJ Kennedy was our BC when we were in Iraq. He was a Lt.Col. at the time. |

| Pohang Korea was a blast. Did you guys did the ROK Marines mountain warfare school? That was pretty awesome. My favorite event there was getting 20 one dollar bills. The cab ride from camp rat-turd to town was $10 and normally a 20 minute ride. So well tell the cabbies that here us their fare and for every minute over 10 well throw out the window a dollar hence their tip shrinking. It's like real life crazy taxi. |

| We spent 60 days in Korea. They where kinda wierd but not wierd as the Russian Naval Infantry and no where as cool as the Ukranian troops. Did you guys spent there long enough to qualify for your Korea Service Medal? Only medal with a dragon. Wich is pretty bad ass I tell my kids I got it for kicking a dragon in the nuts. |

3rd Reconnaissance Bn. Alpha Co. Okinawa Japan
I am a Reconnaissance Marine, unfortunately have only done the 31st MEU due to 3RDs lack of deployment to Afghan. Not really sure how to explain what i do? uh...workout, swim and take pictures seems to be the "popular" explanation lol!
Stories? Eh nothing that great well atleast compared to some of the older guys.
